Also make sure the customer isn't trying to do passthrough
authentication (where IIS offloads authentication of the Web user to the
remote SMB host) -- we don't support it and, furthermore, we know for
sure that it breaks.

I have seen this in a past job using a NetApp filer on the backend.  I
believe the reg hack workaround detailed in the KB article was what we
did to resolve the issue.
